Economic Upskilling

Some of the skills they bring include but are not limited to overseas degrees and professional certifications, great customer service, multilingualism, literacy, job history, and more. Barriers faced by refugees and immigrants include but are not limited to lack of confidence, technology, language, and transportation. Because most of ICOACH staff are former refugees who once faced the same barriers, they know the strengths and abilities of their fellow refugees and understand exactly what it takes to help refugees build the confidence to enter the job market. This program was created to increase the economic opportunities of underserved refugee and immigrant job seekers in our community to thrive in their new home. The program offers training courses to help refugee adults and families overcome barriers to employment, coaching to enhance and promote financial literacy and long-term self-sufficiency. The program gives better opportunities for employment, financial literacy, and job retention.
